hay KNOCKED OUT. JANSEN VERY AGGRESSIVE. Wanganui. Feb. 17. Raymond Jansen knocked out Artie Hay in the eighth round of a fifteen round tight at. the Opera House to-night. Jansen was particularly aggressive throughout. He took six of the rounds, one was even and Hay scored in the fifth. In the first three rounds the Frenchman took the tight to his opponent and hooked with powerful rights and lefts. Hay attempted to hold Jansen off, bu-t the Frenchman ripped in vicious right uppercuts, winch wore Hay down. In the sixth Jansen connected with a right to the solar plexus and Hay went down. He rose at eight and fought hard, using his long right, eventually winning the round amidst applause. Thereafter Hay weakened. Jansen ripped in a., solid right to the heart and Hay went down for eight, A few seconds later a similar hit put him right out without doubt. The fight was the best seen in Wanganui for years.
