For Poverty Bay—Rangatira, s.s., on . Monday • For Kennedy's Bay—Columbia, today For Mercury Bay—Pacific, to-day The schooner J. G. Coulson, Captain H. E. Nealds, left Newcastle, N.S.W., on the 11th instant; had light variable winds until the 15th. when it blew strong from the southward, with high cross seas ; hove-to for 12 hours, when wind moderating, proceeded on her voyage. Sighted Cape Farewell on the 24th, and passed through Cook's Straits the next day. When off Cape Palliseron that evening, experienced heavy northwesterly gale, causing her to heave-to for 10 hours. Was off Cape Kidnappers on Monday, but owing to there being a dead calm, was unable to make the roadstead until Tuesday morning at 8 o'clock. She brings 82 tons coal, consigned to Mr J. H. Vautier, and 25 tons general cargo. The s.s. Rangatira, Captain Griffiths, arrived from Poverty Bay at 5.30 on Wednesday morning, and steamed for Wellington at 1.30 p.m. the same day. The s.s. Star of the South took her departure for the Thames and Auckland at 5.30 p.m. on Wcduesday, with a cargo of live stock. The schooner Opotiki sailed for Poverty Bay on Wednesday evening. The s.s. Murray left Auckland for Napier via Poverty Bay at 1.30 p.m. yesterday. SHIPPING TELEGRAMS. j AUCKLAND. 30th April. The ketoh Forest Queen has arrived from Napier after a good passage of four days. ' • ' WELLINGTON. 28th April. The M'Callum More, ship, with railway material, arrived this morning, 102 days out from Glasgow. She brings no immigi-ants.^ PORT CHALMERS. 28th April. The Asia, from Cork, 78 days out, has arrived, with 467 Government, immigrants, equal to 389-i statute adults. There were three births and two deaths (infants). They were all landed, and sent by train to Dunedin to-day. The Mails.—The English mail steamer had left Melbourne when the Alhambra arrived there. The Aldinga, which was waiting at the Heads, took on the New Zealand mails from the Alhambra, and caught the mail steamer. ;
