The past week's grain and produce markets have been rather brisk ; but wbeat buyers are not anxious to operate at present prices, 4/6 to 4/8. Flour, £l2; sacks, £l2 10/; 1001 b. bags. £l3; 501 b bags, 10/ extra free on boardBran for millers in demand at 6/5, and sharps at 7/—both scarce. Oats are firm, and the local damand is large; stocks are limited, and the'present prices will probably be maintained till spring unless Californian shipments affect the maiket; the present quotations are 4/3 to 4/4. Barley is in fair demand for good milling samples; the exports during the week have been considerable ; quotations, 5/ to 5/3. Rye-grass seed has a ready sale at 4/4. For butter, outside orders are almost nil, prices precluding exports ; quotations, -/10 to -/11. Cheese in good supply at -|s£ to -(6. Ham, 1/. No bacon in market, nor is there any expected for a fortnight. Purchases have been made of potatoes at £3 per ton, deliverable in a fortnight. TIMARU. 27th April.y Horse Stock. On Saturday, nineteen draught horses were sold for £1,327 ; one colt fetching 225 guineas. Station Property. The Ben Ohou station, Upper Waitaki district, was sold yesterday to Mr Ostler, for £20,000. MELBOURNE. 21st April. Live StOCk.—-Owing to the short supply of live stock in the Melbourne market, the price of meat is rising. LONDON. 18th April. The arrivals of wool to date amount to 246,060 bales. The next Colonial wool sales are expected to show a decline. The corn market is firm ; home deliveries small; foreign arrivals are considerable, and in finer qualities. Adelaide wheat freely fetches from 67/ to 69/ f>. 4861b5. Melbourne flour has sold at from 45/ to 47/ f 2901b5. Money easy ; Stock market improving. Australian securities firm. New Zealand hemp lower.
