The schooner Hero, John Campbell, master, left Wairoa at 5 a.m. yesterday, and arrived here at noon to-day. Had light S.E. wiud all the way. Cargo : 27 bales wool, 1 bale and 1 box flax, 1 parcel rope. —The Hero will sail again on Monday night, for Wairoa. The ketch Mary Ann Hudson was ready to leave "Wairoa for this port when the Hero left. She may, therefore, be hourly looked for. There have been four departures since our last, viz.:—The s.s. Rangatira, for Wellington, with 123 bales wool and se« veral passengers ; the cutter Gazelle, for Poverty Bay, with a full general cargo ; the ketch Glimpse, for Wellington via the coast, in ballast; and the schooner Columbia, for Poverty Bay and Auckland, in ballast. The brigantine Amherst was brought into the Iron Pot this morning. The barque Ballarat will probably sail for London direct about the middle of next week. The s.s. Star of the South, from Auckland, had not arrived up to the time we went to press. She has probably been shipping wool along the coast. The schooner Excelsior (or other vesvessel) may, we learn, be expected to arrive here shortly from Newcastle, with a cargo of coal, consigned to Messrs. Routledge, Kennedy and Co.
