RIFLE CLUB HANDICAP MATCH,

The following are the scores made at the firing yesterday morning for the gold medal given by the Napier Rifle Club. The ranges were 200, 500, and 600 yards; 200 yards standing, with an eight-inch bull's-eye ; 500 and 600 any position ; five shots at each range, with sighting shots. There were nineteen competitors for the medal, nine of whom were l.andicapped, viz., Messrs. Garner, Hadfield, and Lyndon, (allowed 12 point?), Robinson and Badley (9), Hooper (8), Britten (7), Kennedy and Miller (6.) As we mentioned in our last, the winner proved to be Mr Paul Badley, with 37 points, which, added to the nine that were allowed to him, made 46. The scores are appended :

KAPIER RIFLES V. LANARKSHIRE RIFLES. The filing of the Napier team in the above friendly match look place this morning at the new range, near the mouth of the Meanee river. The challenge emanated fiora the Napier company. The Lanarkshire Rifles are believed to have tired in September, and intelligence of the result may therefore be expected by the next English mail. The conditions were three langes, 200, 500, and 600 yards; standing at the first range, ami any position at the other two; 5 shots at each range, with sighting shots.
