The s.s. Star of the Sonth, Captain F. Holmes, left Auckland at 2.30 p.m. on Saturday» 23rd inst. Had a strong head wind to the Dast Cape, which was rounded at 4 a.m. yesterday. Called in at To loga Bay for the purpose of shipping wool, but found that was impossible owing to the heavy sea running. Consequently proceeded on her voyage, and arrived at Poverty Bay at 5 p.m. Landed several passengers, and left at midnight. Arrived off Wangawehi at 4 a.m. to-day, but owing to strong northerly wind and dirty weather could not ship wool. Proceeded on the voy ge, and arrived here at 2.30 this afternoon. She brings 30 tons general cargo.—The Star will leave for the Thames and Auckland at noon to-morrow. The schooner Saucy Lisa sailed for Auckland via the coast this afternoon, with cargo as reported in our last. The s.s. Rangatira left Wellington for this port at 5.30 last evening. The p.s. Nebraska, from the South, arlived at Auckland at 10.15 a.m. to day. The p.s. Luna will probably sail this evening for the East Coast.
