The s.s. Star of the South, Capt. Holmes, left Auckland at 5 p.m. on Monday, 21st jnst., and had a strong S.E. wind to the East Cape, which was rounded at 10 p.m. on Tuesday. Had light variable winds and fine weather from thence to Poverty Bay, where she arrived at 10 a.m. yesterday. Landed 7 ton 3 cargo, and left for Napier at 3 p.m. Had strong wind from W.N.W., and arrived in port at 2 o'clock this morning. She brings about 90 tons general cargo for this port. —By advertisement it will be observed that the Star will steam for the Thames and Auckland at 11 a.m. on Saturday. The s.s. Keera, Capt. Andrews, from Auckland via Tauranga and Poverty Bay, arrived in port early this morning, and Steamed for Wellington at 4 o'clock this afternoon.
The cutter Dawn, Capt. Harris, fro m Poverty Bay, arrived in the Bay at 1 p.m. to-day, and went alongside the barque Ballarat. It is not probable she will come inside before to-morrow ingThe schooner Saucy Lass will probably sail for Auckland via the coast about 11 o'clock to-night, with the following pargo ; —l5O bags maize, 17 cases whale bone, 2 ton 3 bones, 70 hides, 3 tons empty casks, 1 dray, &e. A telegram in another column announces the arrival at Auckland to day of the ship Robert Henderson, Capt. A. Culbert, from London. As this vessel left London on the 22nd June, her passage has been rather a long one of 123 days. On discharge of the Auckland portion of her cargo, the Robert Henderson will come on to this port, and be immediately placed on the berth to load with wool for London direct. The s.s. Wonga Wonga is expected to arrive at Auckland from Sydney on Sunday Dexf, 27th inst. She will leave again for Sydney ou the 2nd Nov. The mail steamer Nevada is advertised in the Auckland papers to leave that port with the outgoing English and American mails on Thursday, 3.lst inst., at noon. She will proceed through to §an. Francjsco on this occasion.
