The experiments upon tbe turret of H M S. Glatton, which had been looked forward to with so much interest, took place recently in the Portland Roads Two six pound shots were fired b> the Hotspur from a twelve-inch twenty-five ton miizzle-ioadcr, the charge bi-ing eighty-five pounds of pebble powder. The result of the irial is described as eminently favorable to the turret system. Both shots inflicted great cjamage on the Qlatton's turret, but dicl npt in the slightest degree interfere with its revolving capabilities, or disturb the guus..
