We understand that the immigrants (62 in number) per Ballarat, from London, intended for Auckland, will be forwarded to that port por s.s. B.angatira, on that steamer's next trip. Our files apprise us that no fewer than three candidates are spoken of as likely to be in the field for the Superintendency of Auckland Province, ren dercd vacant on account of Mr Gillies' acceptance of a seat in the Ministry. The three gentlemen mentioned are Messrs John Williamson, Julius Vogel, and John Sheehan.
The JRay of Plenty Times is the name of the latest addition to the newspaper press of the Colony, the first number of which appeared at Tauranga on,, we believe, the 4th inst. No numbers of this journal have reached us, but we presume this is owing to the fact that the s.s. Kangatira did not call in at Tauranga on her way down from Auckland last trip,
