FROM GRWILLW& TELEGRAM COMPANY WELLINGTON. Thursday, July 25. In the House of Representatives last nigbt, Mr E. J. Wakefield (member for Christchurch City East) moved for a return of all persons holding land under the natives. Messrs. M'Lean and Gisborne opposed the motion. Several speakers, while favoring the objects of the motion, condemned the motion itself as being unjustifiable, expensive, and impracticable. The motion was negatived on the voices.
