AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET.

Cattle : There was a moderate supply of dairy cows, the demand for which was not quite so brisk as has'been for the past few \veeks. Stores were in short supply and slack demand. There was' an enquiry for well-bred dairy cows at their calving, and a few good stores were penned in adequate numbers, but were principally heavy weights, and consequently looked upon with disfavor by the trade, and vendors looking for relatively as high figures as for small cattle. Several pens were withdrawn, prices ranging from 20s to 25s per lOOlbs. Sheep : There was a fair number penned, with little alteration in value. Those ex Wall'abi sold at from 13s 6d to 16s 6d ; provincial at from 13s to 15s each.

• Pigs ihshort supply, and a good demand ; medium weights are enquired for.

AUCKLAND SHARE MARKET.

Me. J. M. Lennox reports, under date 20th ° mi %. .—The share market is unusually quiet. Caledonian are still drooping. My sales com£39, £B7s 10s, and £37 ; Thames, £9; other shares are neglected. Closing sellers : Caledonian, £37 10s; Thames, £9; Tookey, £ls ; Tokatea, 85s. Buyers: Caledonian, £37.

s Veey Latest.— Our own correspondent, under date Jan. 22, 1 p.m., says :—" The scrip market is still falling. Caledonians are purchaseable at £32, and Thames at about £8 10s ; few buyers."
