KEREOPA'S TRIAL.

The trial of Kereopa to-day has excited great interest, —the Court having been crowded throughout the day. The evidence of Captain Levy, the only wit ness vho daw Mr Volkner hanged, was very direct and damaging to the prisoner. The prosecution was conducted by the Attorney General, and the defence by Mr Lee, who subjected the witnesses to a rigid cross-examination. Up to a late hour this afternoon the case for the prosecution was not concluded, and we believe the case is still progressing as we go to press.
