AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. (Reports to Nov. 18.) [MR. ALFRED BUCKLA.ND.J The wool !=alQ held at the Haymarket on Monday last was well attended. There was good competition throughout the sale, and every iot offered was sold. Longwool washed brought from 16d to 18id ; in the grease, lQd to Is •fd ; merino wool washed, 13£d ; half-bred Wool, washed, 15d to I7d ; in the grease, 8d io lid the lb., sheepskins, 4f-1 to 7|d per lb. ; salted hides, 4s\ the lb. 195 bales of wool, skins, and 25 hides were sold. " The cattle market on Thursday was fully eup. lied with stock. Dairy e>ws, calving, "we're at very low figures from £3 to £-7 each ; ycailing steers were in request, quiet well-bred animals selling freely at full rates, from £3 to £?3 10s each"s ' heifers were at lower values ; grown steers, although not so free of sale, maintained their previous values ; coarse cattle, towards the end of the safe, barely mainI oned the p ice ruling at the opening of the fa.'e's a few fat cattle, at the opening of the
sale, sold at higher values, but prices .quickly fell to about last week's rates from 25s to 30s the 100 lbs., 112 head sold to the consumers. Store sheep were more numerous than usual, and in request. Half-bred, mixed sizes, in their wool, brought 6s to 14s each; shorn merinos, lis to I6sjeach. Fat sheep were in less numbers than last week, but were no better worth ; the price obtained was about 3d per lb. Lambs were in short supply, and at extreme values Medium animals brought from 14s to 18s 6d each. Fat calves were in much larger numbers than usual, but were in request at full prices. Figs were scarce, and at higher values.
