We decidedly object to the scheme for the sufficient reason that the people cannot afford it, and, as pointed out by our contemporary the Herald this morning, there is no need for h. The legislation of the General G-overn-ment has vested sufficient powers in Superintendents of Provinces to supply all local needs without the resort to more government by a community already the most over-governed of any on the face of the globe.
