The s.b. Star of the South, Capt. Holmes, left Auckland at 4-3.0 p.m. on Wednesday last, 18th insfc'., and passed Cape Colville at 9.30 p.m., with fine S.W. breeze. Rounded the East Cape at 6.30 p.m. on Thursday, and passed Portland Island at 9.30 a.m. yesterday. Had strong westerly bretze up the Bap, and dropped anchor in the roadstead at 3.45 p m., entering the Iron Pot at 7 p.m.—The Star is announced to steam hence for the Thames and Auckland at noon on Tuesday next, Oct. 24. The schooner Crest of the Wave, hence for Auckland on the 23rd Sept., had not arrived up to latest dates. A schooner —supposed to be the Janet Ramsay, hence for Auckland—was seen between Hicks' Bay and the East Cape when the Star of the South passed on Thursday night. At latest dates from London, the barque Rapid was V entered for loading " for Nelson and Napier. The B.s. Napier, hence on Sunday night last, for Poverty Bay and Auckland, waa from the Star of theSouih on Thursday night, 10 miles to the southward of the East Cape. By telegraph we learn that she arrived at Tauranga at 1.10 p m. to-day. 'The ketch Mary Ann Hudson sailed for Wairoa this morning, with a general cargo.
