AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. (Reports to Sept. 23.) [MESSES. HUNTER AND NOLAN.] Cattle; The muster of all descriptions has been good, and firmness has been the characteristic of the market, while fut stock and wellbred grown steers have enhanced in value. The bidding at auction was spirited, and a larger number .changed hands than for gome time past. Dairy cows sold at from £6 15s to £lO 10s; one and a half and two-year old steers, £3 10s to £4 12s 6d ; three-year old steers, £5 12s 6d to £8 2s 6d, according to condition. Beef, best quality, 32a to 3Gs; inferior, about 30s per 100 lbs. Sheep : No stores were penned, and fat in very limited numbers, being principally shorn sheep, and the supply quite inadequate. Fat wethers (shorn) from 12s to 18s; ditto, in wool, from 17s 6d to 24s 6d. Pigs: Few offering ; the limited number yarded sold at highly satisfactory rates.
