There were no cases at the Resident Magistrate's Court this morning. The case of Bayie y. Floyji in the District Court, reported by us yesterday, has been adjourned to the Ist October, when his Honor the Judge will give his decision. An accident occurred in Shakespeare road this morning—a horse and cart belonging to Mr Oath am, of Meanee, having backed into the ravine adjoining Mr Millers property. So far as we~hear, beyond the upsetting of the contents of the cart, no damage was flone.

Captain McKenzie, of the brigantine Flirt, which arrived at Auckland on Monday last, reports that a ship chartered by Webb's agent, San Francisco (Coiley, Stewart & Co ), has been to Samoa (Navigator's), in search of a suitable harbor for a coaling station for the American and New Zealand line of steamers. They intend visiting the Friendly Islands, and Kadavu, in Fiji, with the same purpose.
