Holmes, left Auckland at 4 p.m. on Monday last, 14th instant, and made the run to the East Cape in 24 hours, fresh S.W. wind with flue weather having been experienced. From the East Cape, had light variable winds to Portland Island, which was passed at 7 a.m. yesterday ; from thence to port strong breeze from the we.-tward, arriving here about 5 o'clock last .evening. She was the bearer of about 30 tons general cargo and a f.iir complement of passengers. During her stay in Auckland, the Star was placed on the North Shore patent Blip, and received a thorough overhaul.—The Star will, wo beliere, steam for the. Thames and Auckland to morrow. The schooner Hero sailed for Wairoa last evening, with a miscellaneous cargo. The schooner Saucy Lass left Auckland on she 13th hist., for Napier via Mercury Bay. The ship \lexandrina sailed from Auckland on the 14th ii_st., for London dir ct, with a (Cargo oi sperm oil, cotton, kauri gum, wool, gold, silver, &c, valued at £L25,570 12a Sd.
