Wednesday, July 12. The Government have informed Mr Beynolds that it is their intention to introduce a " Workmen's Loan Bill " this session. At a trial crushing of the Border reef at Bendigo, 41 ounces of gold were taken from 9 tons stone. • An important decision has been given by Mr Justice Chapman in the case of Syson v. Herbert, which decides cases on the withdrawal of civil actions by the plaintiffs, the defendant being entitled to all his costs, not with stand ing the notice of withdrawal previous to hearing.
