The Emperor William has just founded an order of merit for the women and young girls who tended the sick and wounded during the late war. The decoration is to consist of a blaek enamel cross with silver border, and bearing on the face the red cross of the Geneva Convention, and on the reverse the initials of the King and Queen, with royal crowns, and the date 187071. It is to be worn on the left side, suspended by a riband of white silk with blaek edging, and passed through a silver ring. The Sandwich Islanders have been talking of intervening between France and Prussia. The ministerial journal of Honolulu concludes its strong leader in these words :—" Hoonohonoho ka papapo o ka huakahoo loowa ko keeho oka pupo e kawa knio o ka ha ha."— Tt would be a sight to see the expression of dear old Bismarck's genial face when he reads it, and passes it on to good na hi red -looking Mol f ke.
