The population of Wellington Province, when the last census was taken, amounted to 23,982-r-13,165 males and 10,817 females. A Melbourne telegram, dated May 13, reports the breadstuff!* market as rising; flour, £\6 10s to £-17; sugars firm. An Adelaide telegram, dated the 12th, reports wheat very firm at 6s.
