General Clusiiet having advanced, a severe battle was fought at Neuilly on the the night of the 16th, when it is asserted the Pontiticial Zouaves surrendered, and a flag of the Commune and hostile church was captured. Dumbrouski, on the other hand, declares that he occupied the whole of the new quarter of Neuilly, and that he carried three barricades and made many piisoners; also, that the bridge at Neuilly is still warmly contested. A rumour is current that England, Italy, and America are trying to bring about a truce.
Menotti Garibaldi has been elected a member of the Commune. The elections generally have failed owing to the few electors voting.
