We learn from the Otago Times that the Rev. Mr Nevill will be consecrated to the See of Dunedin, in St. Paul's Church, on the 30th of this month (Whit-Tuesday.) The Bishops of Nelson, Christchurch, and Wellington.are expected to take part in the ceremony. A panorama of the Sau Francisco Mail Route was being exhibited in Dunedin at latest dates. The Daily Times says :—The pictures are of more than average merit, most of the landscapes being well delineated, the greatest deficiency being in the animal and tigure drawings The. vast territory through which the great railway passes is shown in all its varied scenery, and the lecturer, who is thoroughly conversant with his subject, does not fail to excite the interest of the audience by his amusing and instructive lecture. During her stay in Otago this trip, the s. s. Wellington was taken into Murray and Co.'s Floating Dock, where she received a thorough cleaning and repainting. Her engines also have been thoroughly overhauled by her chief engineer, Mr Hussick, late of the s.s. Airedale. The providoring is under the superintendence of Mr Bennett, so well known as the steamers' caterer of the New Zealand coast, and she is now thoroughly in order to undertake the East Coast trade, where it has been decided to run. her regularly twice a month, calling at all ports between Auckland and Otago. It will be re membered it is over twelve months since we have had this favorite little steamer running on the coast, she having been laid tip in Wellington harbor by the late New Zealand Steam Navigation Company. Passengers will be pleased to learn that their old friend Captain Kennedy, late of the. Airedale, is in command. We wish him e« ery success, as also the newly-formed Company which is started under the most favorable auspices with their two steamers the Taranaki and Wellington
