The Golden Crown took out 450 ozs. during the week, and other mines are turning out very payable. The dividend list is constantly increasing. A stone weighing 2J cwt., valued at .£4,000, was taken out of the Caledonian last week

The overland Thames route is still closed to the mailman, and no efforts have been made by Mr McLean to reopen it, or even discuss the matter with the natives The opening of the district for goldmining is now looked forward to, and that will be the most effectual way of settling the matter.
