AUCKLAND LIYE STOCK MARKET. (Reports to April 70 [MESSRS. HUNTER AND NOLAN.] Hobsks : The market has been rather dull, and few of a good stamp offered ; sales were scarcely up to the average in number, consisting of weedy and inferior animals, the demand for which is dull; good upstanding horses, fit for saddle and draught, are enquired for, and really good staunch stock could ba placed. Cattle : There has been a marked improvement in the demand, and prices of all descriptions have shown an upward tendency. At the Junction Yards on Tuesday there was a good muster of stock, and large attendance of buyers, considering the unfavorable weather. At Papakura on Wednesday there was a fair muster of stock, and the advance for stores was more marked. Fat beasts hare been penned in average numbers; light weights and provincial fatted met with good competition, and for some prime 30s per cwt. was obtained. Dairy cows offered in less numbers than usual; sale 3 nominal. We quote dairy cows at calving, £lO to £l2; two-year-old steers, £lO to £5 2s 6d ; heifers in calf, £6 to £0 12s 6d j calves and yearlings, from £1 5s to £2 2s 6d. Sheep : There has again been a good muster of sheep and brisk demand, last week's prices being fully sustained. Stocks of fat sheep are limited unless shipments come to hand. We anticipate continued fiminpss. We quote fat wethers, best quality, at 17$ 61 to 22s 6d ; medium, from 12s 3d to 16s ; fat lambs, 8s 6d to 12s 6d ; store, from 5s to 7s 6d. * Pigs have been scarce this week, and sales consequently limited, but at full rates.
