This may or may not be the case, but we are aware that the immigrants themselves told a very different story to some of their countrymen j}ere. They said in the plainest terms that their bargain with Dr. Featherston was that they were to purchase land on #ie deferred payment principle,, but possibly they misunderstood the matter.
