Friday, Feb. 24. The Warrior Queen has arrived at the Heads from. London.
In the case of Regina v. Barton, a great part of the day was occupied with endeavoring to prove the authorship of the article. The witnesses connected with the Times all declined to swear, and refused to produce the original manuscript. Ultimately, the sub-editor and readers admitted that it was Barton's. This closed the case for the prosecution, Macassey admitting that the article was wrillen by Barton. The examination of Hay, the first witness lor the defence, was commenced, but not finished. The case was adjourned till Monday.
