DECEMBER. 29—Saucy Lasg, schooner, 3(3 tons, K. M'Oregor, from A u °kland via Mercury Buy, with 25,000 feet timber, 30,000 shingles, Holt. : —Master, agsmt. The schooner Saucy Lass, K. M'Gregor, master, arrived here at 6 p.m. y< sterday, wjth a cargo of ,sawn timber, shingles, &c. She. left Auckland on the 20th insfc, and arrived at Mercury Bay on the following day. Took in cargo and left for Napier on the 24th. Rounded the East Cape on the 25th. The same day had to put in to Open Bay for shelter from a southerly gale. Left again on the 26th, having remained at anchor for 24 hours; and arrived here as above. The schooner Colonist, Lewis, master, returned to port tliis mornng, after a rather unsuccessful trip. She left Napier at 7 P>n on Friday last, and arriyed off Manawarakau at 6 o'clock the next morning. Discharged one boatload of cargo and shipped 3 bales of wool, when a souther having sprung up, had $o stand tP sea. Lay off and on until early this morning, when she stood for Napier, and arrived here at 10 o'clock. The s.s. Lord Ashley, from Tonranga and Auckland, may be expected to arrive early tp-morrow morning, and will have quick despatch for Wellington and Southern Ports.
