Just as we go to press we have received from our Canterbury correspondent a telegiam denying a statement made in the Otago Daily Times respecting the antagonistic feeling of the Canterbury country districts towards the financial policy of the Government, and the probability that these districts will, at the next general election, rerera candidates opposed to that policy We, of course, do not know anything of the merits of the discussion, but we decidedly object to being made the medium of a Government puff, and at the same time having to pay for it.
