Saturday, Dec. 3. The farewell dinner to William Sefton Moorhouse, Esq., last night, was a great success. All shades of opinion was represented. Mr Moorhouse was presented with a silver tankard and claret jug, and Mrs Moorhouse with an exceedingly handsome coffee service. Moorhouse in his speech said that Canterbmy and Otago were really the only two colonising powers in the Colony.
A youth named Bailey, who was under medical treatment for sore eyes, hung himself yester<]ay.
