Hawke's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jurare in verba magistri. THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1870.

Rifle Match.—The match (twelve on each side) between Napier and Wellington came off yesterday, and resulted in a victory for Napier, of sixty-one points. The day was very favorable, and the shooting excellent. At the 300 yards range twenty seven bull's eyes were scored out of the sixty shots, fourteen of them being consecutive. The following were the totals at the different ranges: — 30,0 y. 400 y. 500 y, 600 y. Total. Napier ... 198 174 147 128 6*7 Wellington... 180 170 115 121 586 18 4 32 7 61 —lt will thus be seen that the Napier shooting was superior to that of Wellington at each range, The Napier score was, we believe, one of the best yet made in this Island, the average number of points per man being 53 # 93 out of a possible eighty. The highest score (sixty-one) was made by Ensign Close. The Wellington average was 48*83. We intend publishing the complete scores when we receive the detailed account of the Wellington shoot' jng in our next Southern files,
