The mail steamer Avoca cut down the steamer Waimea, outward bound. The latter *ank in five minutes. The crew and passengers were saved. The Governor's Salary Reduction Bill has been read a second, time in the Assembly. Business dull, and quotations unalteved.„

Arrived at Newcastle;—Golden Age, Ann, Flabworth, and Jeneadia, from Dunedin, ADELAIDE. Sunday, Oct. 30. Heavy rains have fallen throughout the Colony. Mr Gawler, Land Titles Commissioner, has left for Melbourne, en route to New Zealand, where he is to initiate the Real Property Act. Several parcels of wheat has been sold at 5s Bd. The Assembly has voted £IOOO as a bonus for the first hundred tons of flax grown and manufactured in the Colony,
