We are glad to learn that Mr Patrick O'Connor, who, it will be remembered, was so severely injured on the Meanee race course on Wednesday last, is progressing favorably. Live Stock .Reports.- -Referring to the Auckland stock reports to tlie &Bth October (one of which will be found elsewhere), our Auckland correspondent writes :— "■ There are no later stock reports procurable, but prices are unaltered." Cricket.—The cricket match on Saturday afternoon between single and married men of the Clarendon Club was won by the former. The married men made 120 runs in the two innings, but the single men managed to exceed that number with 5 wickeis to spare.

Melancholy Accident.—A sad accident occurred yesterday afternoon, by which three boys—two biothei-s named Greenaway, and a boy named Maloney —lost their lives while bathing in the harbor. An inquest was held at rather an early hour this morning at the Exchange Hotel, but we regret that we are unable to afford our readers any more information than the mere fact thacavertfict of "Accidentally drowned" was. returned^

Impudent Robbery, Yesterday morning, before daylight, an audacious robbery was committed, the victim being a working man named Tiqr, employed by Messrs, Newton, Irvine and Co. He was awoke in the night by the noise of some person leaving his bedroom, and followed the intruder, but though he observed him decamp over the fence, he was unable to overtake him. On examination he found that a box iu his bedroom, in which he had left about .£3O in gold and silver, had been opened, and the money taken. The thief had obtained an entrance to the house by cutting a pane of glass from the window; and evidently had some knowledge of the premises, and the habits of the occupant. Mr Tier at once gave information to the police, but we believe no clue has yet been found by which to identify the perpetrator of the robberv.
