The stringers foivthe new bridge now being constructed at the Drake's Elbow, on the Eimutaka road, Wairarapa, have been sawn at the Taratahi Saw Mills. We bcliove they are \\\q longest lengths cut by any saw mill in the Wairarapa, being 42 feet long, and twelve by fifteen inches in breadth and thickness. J3eing all of heart of totara, they afford a v;ry good epeciraen of the timber of the Wairarapa, and are a credit both to Mr lievans' Saw Mills and also to tho overseer, Me Hughan.—Wairarapa l^ercury.
