The schooner Hero, Campbell, master, left Napier at 6 p.m. on the 17th inst., with light southerly wind, and came to an anchor off Wairoa at 1 p.m. on the 18th ; entered the river at 9 a.m. on the 19 h; discharged and took in cargo and left for Napier at 8 o.'clock yesterday morning, with boisterous easterly weather, and arrived here last evening. The Hero leaves again for Wairoa about Saturday next. The schooner Three Brothers was to have left Wairoa for this port yesterday or to day. The s.s. Keera steamed for Auckland this morning, with a cargo of live stock. The p.s. Comerang will take her departure for Auckland to-night, with a cargo of stock. The schooner Ocean Wave, which vessel arrived on Tuesday night, still remains at anchor in the roadstead, not being able to enter the Iron Pot untd the departure of the Comerang. The schooner Herald, for Auckland via Mahia, leaves to-morrow. She cleared in ballast a day or two ago, but she is now taking in tallow, &c. The s.s. Lord Ashley, hence at 2 p.m. yesterday, made a rapid run to Wellington, having arrived there at 10 30 a.m. to-duy. She may be expected to return to this port on or about fcho 7th October. The s.s. Rangatira, we learn, was to leave Wellington for this port at 5 o'clock this afternoon. She may, therefore, be expected about the same time to morrow. The ship Beautiful Star is reported in the New Zealand Examiner as loading for Nelson and Napier j in the European Mail she is reported as loading for Nelson and New Plymouth.

The barque East Lothian cleared at the Customs, Auckland, on the 24th inst., for New York, with a cargo of kauri gum, flax, sc, valued at £II,OOO. The European Mail says : —The number of wrecks reported during the present year, up \o July 9, is 947.
