A strike has taken place amongst a. party of roadmen at Coroma:;ael, who wore not satisfied with six shillings a day. The German residents of Bunedin have already collected upwards of #IOO towards thd relief of sufferers by* the war. A considerable sum has also been subscribed in Auckland.
A telegram in the Auckland Evening Star* from Grahaoistown, dated 24th Sept., '6 p.m., says:—" The Golden Crown reef has been struck in Tookey's claim this morning, a u\ splendid gold taken out."
