Hawake's Bay Times. Nullius addictus jur are in verba magistri. MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 1870.
The announcement we make in this morning's issue, of our intention to publish, our journal in future as an evening daily, will no doubt come unexpectedly to our reader*?, the change being somewhat different from the one we promised some time ago. We have, however, after mature consideration, resolved to adopt this course for the due protection of our interests; not that we are sanguine of its being a remunerative enterprise at present, but because other parties having indicated an intention .to occupy the field in a similar manner, it has become necessary for us to take this step to maintain our position. Our terms of subscription will remain unchanged, though our friends will receive three times as many paper's as hitherto. This arrangement will, of course, entail upon us much additional labor and heavy expense, but we trust that our endeavors to meet what appears to be felt as a want in some quarters will be duly appreciated, that our circulation may be considerably augmented, and that the ad/ertizing public will avail themselves of the advantages we offer in a daily issue.
