FIJI.

FRIGHTFUL SLAUGHTER OF FIJIANS. MURDER AND CANNABALISM. From Fiji papers to hand, we (Southern Cross) have received the frightful news of a perfect massacre that has taken place at 35a, on the North-west coast of Vita Levu. For some time past the people of Ba have been at war with the Mountaineers, and a few on both sides killed. The Mountaineers from Navosa came down to Nalatu, an inland district hitherto subject to Ba, and massacred 370 of the Nalatu poople. The heathens say the next town they will attack will be Saguna. Mr Norman, late of Sandhurst, Mel bourne, has also been killed ; the cannibals -cooked and ate his body. Other outrages have been committed.
