Tuesday. Sept. 13. The House of Representatives having refused to accept the amendments of the Legislative Council on the Railway Bill, a conference took place, but came to no conclusion, the Upper House refusing .to yield. Mr Yogel thereupon accepted the amendments made hy that body; As necessitating the narrow guasre, this ■ has caused some concern where there are rail ways now established. A Bill will be brought down partially to relieve Canterbury from the operations of the narrow guage clause. Parliament was this day prorogued till the 11th Oct. The Governor, in his speech, dwelt on the advantages of the Real Property and Ballot Acts, the new mail service, &c, and con gratulated members on the woik of the session generally. Jt concluded with a reference to the deplorable war news received by last mail.
