The Government p.s. Luna, Captain Fairchild, from Wanganui and Wellington, arrived in the roadstead at 5 p.m. on Thursday last, having experienced very tempestuous weather on the passage up. She had on board about 200 natives of the Ngatiporou tribe.—The Luna entered the Iron Pot on Friday, and steamed for the East Coast at 9 a.m. on Saturday. She may be expected to return to Napier in a week or ten days. The s.s. Taranaki, Captain Wheeler, from Weir lington and Southern Ports, arrived in the Ahuriri roadstead at 4 p.m. on Saturday last, having on board 05 tons ( of cargo for this port. She resumed her voyage to Auckland at 9 a.m. yesterday, without being able to land any cargo. The cutter Maud, Quarterman, master, from Auckland via Wangapoa, arrived in the roadstead on Saturday night, and entered the Iron Pot yesterday. She brings a cargo of 21,800 feet sawn timber, consigned to Messrs Large and Townley. —lt will be seen by advertisement that the Maud is for freight or charter. The s.s. Keera, Captain Bain, left Auckland at 1 p.m. on Friday last, and experienced light winds and fine weather, with heavy easterly swell to the East Cape, which was rounded at 7 p.m. on Saturday from thence to port moderate northerly wind, arriving here at 2 p«m, yesterday. The ketch Why Not, Baxter, arrived in port at an early hour this morning. The s.s. Lord Ashley was to leave Auckland for this port on Saturday afternoon, and may there* fore be lpoked for to-day. The schooner Colonist was to leave Auckland for this port on Saturday last. The ketch Eagle put into Hick's Bay on the 17th inst., and left Again on the 19th, standing to the northward. The schooner Muriwai may, we believe, be shortly expected to arrive from Poverty Bay.
