Reports leaving Turangauui at noon on Monday, 6th inst; had calms with heavy sea first part of passage; at about 3 p.m. on Tuesday, caught a heavy E.N.E. wind with very high sea; rounded Portland Island at dusk on Tuesday, and arrived here at 2 p.m. yesterday. The schooner Three Brothers, from all we can hear, was seen off the mouth of the Wairoa river on Monday last. We sincerely hope she got inside. The s.s. Star of the " mth, hence for Auckland on Friday night last, put into Poverty Bay for shelter from a N.E. wind on Satuiday. She resumed her voyage on Sunday. The s.s. St. Kilda, hence on Friday last, arrived a£ Poverty Bay on Saturday, and steamed for Opothe same day. The ketch Why Not, we believe, is again on the for Wairoa.

The schooner Bee, from Lyttelton with grain, pay be looked for when the weather moderates,' she having left that port on Sunday, 39th May. The p,s. Luna, hence at 7 p.m. on Saturday last, arrived at Wellington, at 8.15 p.m. on Sunday. She was to be despatched on the following day for the Manukau, for the purpose of conveying his Excellency the Governor to Wellington to open the General Assembly. The Argyleshire, an iron sailing ship, of 700 tons register, built by Messrs. Dobie and Co., of Govan, was launched recently for Messrs. Law, Taylor and Co., Glasgow, for the New Zealand trade. We observe that the Argyleshire was loading at London for Auckland. There has been fearful loss of life on board a ship carrying coolies from Calcutta to Demerara. She was 123 days on her voyage, and in that time, 1 out of 4)58 of all ages and both sexes shipped, OS died, including two born on board. Low fever, dysentery, diarrhoea, dropsy, and more especially scurvy, are the causes reported by the surgeon. The lime-juice on board was bad, and the onions and potatoes rotten. It was only at St. Helena that any supply of suitable provisions could be obtained.
