Impounded Horses,—A sale of the above will take place to at the Meanee sale yards. Easter Monday. —The banks will be closed to day owing to its being Easter Monday. Annual Licensing Meeting.- - To-morrow, we believe, is the day fixed for granting annual licenses to publicans. A large numbers of passengers proceed to Poverty Bay by the schooners Muriwai and Colonist as soon as the weather will permit of those vessels leaving port. The Outward English Mail, it will be observed by post office notice, leaves TTapier on Friday next, 22nd inst., by the ss. Airedale. It will leave Auckland on the 4th of May, by the s.s. City of Melbourne.
The Weather since our last has been very tinsel tied, and a large quantity of rain has fallen. The wind has been principally strong from the southward, which h a * caused a heavy sea in the Bay. No sign > of a change are apparent as we go to press this morning.
