The Late Mr W. F. Palmer.— It is our painful duty this morning to record the death, at the age of 36 years, of Mr W. F. Palmer, who died on Tuesday afternoon, after a painful illness of several weeks' duration. Few men in this community were more generally respected; Mr Palmer having, by his exertions in the Sunday Schools, in the temperance cause, and, in fact, every good work, combined with his own consistent conduct, gained the esteem of all who knew him. On Sunday the 20th ult., though at that time suffering from the iiluess which has since proved fatal, he made his way to the Port Sunday School, and this was the last occasion of his walking abroad; in fact, he never again left his house. He has left a wife and three young children, as well an many friends, to mourn his loss. He will be greatly missed by all those who have worked with him, and who have often been encouraged by the example of his unflagging zeal, to persevere amidst depressing influences. "His works do follow him."
