The Bepoeted Death oe Madame Lucy Escott.—The following is from the Sydney Morning Herald, Feb. 16:—There is reason to believe that the announcement in our telegram yesterday, about the death of Lucy Escott, is an error of transmission. The message originally came, " Lucy Evans is dead." We referred this portion back to the telegraph office, and were informed that the reading on the tape was "Lucy Escott." There is little doubt it should have been Sir De Lacy Evans. Madame Escott's numerous friends will not regret the mistake.
