So far as the general public are concerned, Hawke's Bay might as well have been without an outward mail this month. Few, indeed, were able to take advantage of it, and those only town residents. No public notification whatever of the intention of the Government to despatch it on Friday last by the llangatita was given until the publication of the Herald on that morning--the day after the uuil for money ordeis and registered letters had closed. Truly, in the matter of the mail service Hawke's Bay hah been shamefully treated during the whole of the present Ministry's term cf office.
