Renner, left Auckland $t 1.1 o p.m. p.m. pn Tuesday, January 25 ; had light N.E. winds and fine w&tther throughout the passage ; rounded the East Cape at 8 p.m. on the 26th, and Portland Island at 5.30 a.m. on Thursday, the 37th, arriving here at 11 a.m. Reports seeing a light at sea on the night of the 26th probably that of the Star of the South. The Rangatira brought' a small general cargo and three passengers'. She steamed for Wellington aud the south at 3.30 p.m. on Thursday, with seven passengers'and the following cargo :—-5' empty hlicL-., 1$ empty barrels, 3 boxes, 1 c<»3k tallow, and 40 • bales of wool'

The s.s. Wellington, Capf. Holmes, left Port Chalmers at 1.15 p.m. .on the 25th in?t., aud arrived at Lyttelton at' 9 a.m. on the 26th $ left Lyttelton .at 5.40 p.m. .on the 26th, an.d arrived at Wellington at 2.20 p.m. on the 27th ; left Wellington at 1.15 p.m.' on the 28th, and arrived here at 10 a.m. on the 29th (Saturday last.) From Port Chalmers to Lyttelton experienced fine weather and smooth wt.ter; from Lyttelton to Wellington fresh N.W. gale, with heavy sea whilst crossing Cook's Straits; from Wellington to Hawke's Bay fresh N.W. wind with heavy sea. Reports sighting the s.s. Bangatira, hence, crossing Palliser Bay. The Wellington took her departure northwards at 3 p.m. on Saturday. The schooner Three Brothers, which arrived from Wairoa on Wednesday, brought up 6 bales of wool and 14 cases apples. This vessel leaves port again to-day, for Wairoa, with a cargo of sawn timber, mouldings, &c. The schooner Mary Thompson sailed for Poverty Bay on Thursday afternoon, with 120 sheep, 7 bulls, and 5 passengers. The first wool ship of the season has taken her departure from our waters with one of the most valuable cargoes—the size of the vessel considered —that has ever been seut away from this port. Shortly after five o'clock on Saturday afternoon the clipper barque Jennie Ellingwood cast off from the Government moorings, and, favored by a fresh westerly breeze, was quickly lost to view. She was in excellent trim —more ttnn ordinary having been taken in stowing her. We wish Capt. Marshall and -his gallant barque God speed, and a prosperous voyage to the mother country. The brig Magurie, hence on the 17-th inst., for Newcastle, N.S.W., was sighted off Cape Brett on the 22nd, steering N.W., having made a favorable run so far. TELEGRAPHIC. The Flying Squadron left Wellington for Auckland at 6.30 a.m. on the 27th inst. The ship Hyduspes left Lyttelton for London at 8 a.m. on the 28th inst. The s.s'. Airedale, from Sydney via Manukau, Nelson, and Picton, arrived at Wellington at 6.40 p.m. on the 28th inst. The barque Tell sailed for Newcastle from Port Chalmers at 9 a.m. on the 27th inst. The s.s. Rangatira, from Auckland and Napier, arrived at Wellington at S.lO p.m. on the 28th iust. AUCKLAND SHIPPING NOTES. [Dates to Jan. 25.] The schooner S.tuey Lass, M'Gregor, master, left [Auckland on the 22nd inst., for Mercury Bay, there to load 28,000 feet timber for Napier. The ship Helenslee, Capt. M'Donald, from London, arrived at Auckland on the 18th inst., with a full general cargo and about 35 passengers. She had on board the following cargo for Hawke's Bay:—lo3 pclcgs., 60 cases, Watt Bros.; 1 case, 1 qr-cask, and 2 pekgs., order ; IS-i packages, N. Williams; 26 pekgs., Newton, Irvine and Co.; 1 trass, Canning and Russell; 14 cases, 7 pekgs., J. W. Gowing. The s.s. Auckland, from Sydney and Melbourne, arrived at Auckland on the 23rd inst., with a full general cargo and 30 passengers. The s.s. Airedale, from Sydney, arrived at the Manukau on the 21st inst. The hon. J. Vogel and Mrs Vogel were passengers. The schooner Colonist, from Poverty Bay, arrived at Auckland on the 20th iust., with the following cargo : —122 casks sperm oil, 113 cases apples, and 80 bags grass seed. The barque Bella Mary, from Hobart Town, arrived at Auckland on the 20th inst., with a full cargo of Tasmaniau produce aud several passengers. The powerful p.s. Luna, Capt. Ellis, arrived at Auckland from Sydney on the 24th inst., and was to commence running between that port and the Thames in a few days.
