Star of the South, Captain Bendall, returned to port from Te Apiti at noon on Tuesday, having left for that place on Saturday last; owing, however, to the heavy surf, did not succeed in landing anything until Monday, when the cargo was discharged, and 95 bales of wool shipped. The Star steamed for Auckland via Mahia at 2.30 p.m. yesterday, with 1,030 sheep, 3 bulls, and 1 hoi se. The schooner Success sailed for Porangahau on Monday night. The schooner Hero took her departure for Wairqa on Tuesday night. Last evening the barque R. T. Turnbull had on board 1,250 bales of wool.

The ship Chile .commenced taking in wool on Monday. The bar.qne Jennie completed her loading on Monday, and will probably leave for London direct to-day or to-morrow. The following is a list pf her cargo :—-1,847 bales and H qr-bales wool, -2 bales shsonsMrts, 11 casks jtallow, 166 bales flax, and 40 bales tow. The schooner Three Brothers, from Wairoa, arrived in the roadstead yesterday afternoon. The s.s. Phoebe, is due here from Auckland this day, and is announced to wards to-mor-row. The S..S. Wellington, from Southern Ports, may be expected to arrive on or about Saturday next, and will have quick despatch for Auckland. The s.s. llangatira may be hourly expected to put in a.u appearance from Auckland, and will steam southwards shortly after arrival. The schooner Mary Thompson will leave port to-day for Poverty Bay, with 120 rams, 6 bulls, and a miscellaneous cargo. TELEGRAPHIC. The Flying Squadron arrived at Wellington from Lytteltou at 5 p.m. on the 24th inst. The s.s. Omeo, from Melbourne, arrived at the Bluff at 4.30.p.m. on the 24th inst. The s.s. Wellington left Port Chalmers at 1.15 p.m. on the 25th inst., and arrived at Lytteltou at. 9 a.m. yesterday. The s.s. John Penn, from Manukau, arrived at Wanganui at 3.20 p.m. on the 25th inst. The p.s. Comerang, from Manukan, arrived at Wanganui at 10.30 a.m. yesterday.
