Newspaper Deqortjm:.—We take th following from a late issue of the Nelso Examiner. The remarks refer to i| local contemporary the Colonist ; bi| our leaders will he able to see that th Colonist is not the only journal in tl Colony to which they wouid apply : —"TI Colonist of late has become a great stick! for newspaper decorum, and its lectur on the subject are highly amusing. Whi ever the readiest of the ready to thro dirt, and impute the low.st motives to ( who differ with it in opinion, it cann hear the conduct of its own friends crii cised even in mild terms without giving stilted lecture on propriety. Ihe Colon: evidently haa a notion that it holds a sj cial license to criticise the acts of pub men, and regards with jealousy &\>J fl who ventures to trench upon its particu province. As the mania is harmless, 6hall leave our contempory in the e»'|< ment of it."
