Commercial Enterprise.—We understand, says the Grey River Argus, that a party of Melbourne merchants intend phartering a steamer, with a view of com tuning business with pleasure, to visit the various ports of New Zealand, in order to ascertain the capabilities of the several provinces. The Commissioners to Englvnd.— "Writing under date September 28, the Wellington correspondent of the Waira rapa Mercury says : 'As you have already heard there is some hitch about Dr. JJeatlierston going dome. What it is there js no information. Some say family affairs, while others assign political reasons. Cer tain it is, however, that things dp not run guite smoothly. It was arranged, in fact, publicly announced, that Dr. Eeatherston Was to be sworn into the Ministry before the Governor left, so that he might go Jiome as a raemt er of the Government; but Sir George Bowen left and Dr. Featherston did not take the oaths, nor is there as yet any sign of the Council being summoned." The Evening Post, October 8, however, says that "it is understood that all difficulties about the Commissioners to England have been removed : that Dr. Eeatherston has finally agreed to go, and that he and Mr Bell will take their departure in December, from New Zealand. A very large amount of interest will attach itself to their mission, and their proceedings will be watched with anxiety by politicians of all shades of opinion in the Colony ; some wishing them success, and pthers hoping that they may fail in their (efforts to procure the assistance of Imperial troops. There is no doubt that they will p?e their utmost efforts to achieve this end Featberston especially-*—but even their warmest supporters cannot deny jhat they are undertaking a task of great fliffipulty, and with not very brilliant profpgPtS 9$ «ucces». ??
