The Provincial Council was prorogued on Saturday. The Iron Pot this morning presents a particularly bare appearance, the lighter Greenwich and the Hero, schooner, undergoing repairs, being the only vessels in harbor. The s.s. "Wellington is due from Wellington and Southern Ports this day, and is announced to leave for Tnranganui and Auckland to-morrow (Tuesday) Exports.—"We note the following, exports for the month ending 30th September.*:—l94 head of cattle, 1,537 sheep, 42 bales of wool, 34 casks tallow, 36hides, 27 casks whale oil, 23 cases and 10 casks preserved meat. Gold.—A few days ago Colonel Lambert received a letter from Mr E. Harwood, an experienced digger, living at Buataniwha, in which he states that a son of the Colonel's had found at Tukipo, on the plains, a piece of quartz which lias every indication of containing gold.
